Design & Production Director, Watershed Communications, Montana, USA.
Responsible for concept and design creation for the internet and print. Project, client and vendor management. Project cost and quality management through to technical production and delivery, plus invoicing. Projects included; colemanouternet.com, creating brochures such as the Flathead Valley Golf Guide; web site design and development; and working directly with national clients to create information products such as the Coleman Campground and RV Park Directory.

Nov 2001 - Sept 2002
Graphic Designer, Flathead Publishing Group, Montana, USA. Responsible for producing the advertising and layout for the weekly Lake County Leader and Advertiser. Actively bringing the graphic production of these publications from paste-up to modern digital production in QuarkXpress. Then, working with the team to make the transition from QuarkXpress based layout, to the implementation of Baseview and AdForce for newspaper layout and pagination. Responsibilities also included staff training.

June 2000 - Nov 2001
Senior Graphic Designer for an engineering consulting firm - Seattle, designing and producing marketing support materials, advertising, presentation boards, web site design and design for print. Providing leadership and forward momentum to develop new organizational tools and set new standards for in-house design. Additional responsibilities include; providing staff training, PR recommendations, copywriting and illustration.

March 1993 - June 2000
Moved to Seattle, from England in January 1993 and worked as a self-employed Creative Director / Graphic Designer, producing high quality brochures, newsletters, marketing materials, advertising, corporate identities, web site content design/development and exhibition graphics for a wide variety of businesses in the Pacific Northwest, in addition to the positions below.

Director of Publications and Public Information for Community College, Seattle, WA, USA, temporarily managing a staff of 5, directing the design and production of all college publications and advertising, both in print and online. Providing inter-departmental leadership, and creating/implementing new and productive organizational tools.

Graphics Manager for The Seattle Downtown News, Seattle, WA, USA, producing this weekly newspaper; editing the content, creating headlines, creating the advertising and page layout, directing the assistant production artist and their work flow while also accommodating the needs of editorial and advertising sales staff.

Graphic Designer, Copywriter, Illustrator, for Teasdale Graphic Advertising (TGA), Lincolnshire, England. Worked on a wide range of projects including; brochures, annual reports, logos, advertising, packaging and exhibition graphics. Responsible for design and production from concept through to final delivery. Worked directly with clients and suppliers, purchasing advertising space and print, directing and assisting with studio photography.

Freelance Graphic Designer, Lincolnshire, England. Provided a flexible service for a number of studios, designing and producing brochures, catalogs, calendars and advertising.

Sept 1986 - Feb 1987
Cardinal Design Partnership, Cheltenham, England. Position of Junior Graphic Designer, assisted with designing and producing brochures and publicity material for major engineering and electronics companies.

COMPUTER EXPERIENCE
Experienced to a very high level in graphics industry-standard programs, including:
QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Freehand, Dreamweaver and inDesign. For website projects, HTML, understand and edit XHTML
, ASP, JAVASCRIPT and PHP.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS
Business management and book-keeping. Traditional artist’s skills. Creative copywriting, with styles adapted to inspire and/or for advertising and marketing purposes. Intuitive understanding of human nature/motivations and psychology.

Volunteer teacher for a local Buddhist Center teaching classes on meditation, Buddhist philosophy and practice.
